ok, so we are using a large plastic swimming pool to do this garden. My kids went crazy picking fruits and veggies to plant. I am not sure what is going to happen. But, we are hoping it will work out. Green beans, squash, tomatoes, sugar snap peas, watermelon, canalope, bell peppers, and carrots. I know some else who used a pool also to grow their veggies, and they are working great. If you try it at home make sure you poke some holes on the bottom or sides for the water to drain out. I will keep taking photos of this garden, each week and show the progress. Dont forget to check back. In the meantime, go grow yourself a garden too, it was alot of fun to set up.

I found this article on the web about eating on a blue plate so you will fool yourself into eating less. I just recently heard this commented on a local radio station as well. I had to search for this myself, this is really going a bit too far. My advice, eat on a smaller plate and dont go back for seconds.
ok, this isn’t my usual “healthy recipe”, but, its definalty a good tasting one. Get some bisquit rolls from the refridger section of the store. Flatten down. Cook some bacon and crumble it up, put inside the roll with some cheese. Roll up into these funny looking burrito things, cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then flip over and cook another 5 minutes. I do this so the bottom isn’t doughy. Enjoy. Definalty not healthy or low fat.
ok, this one is an easy family favorite, and low fat.
preheat your oven to 400 degrees, toast some high fiber REAL wheat bread. Look for Wheat Bread with at least 4-5 grams fiber, to fill you up. Start boiling the chicken breasts 4-5 if you have alot of people to feed. Shread up the chicken when done boiling in a bowl pour a bunch of barbaque sauce, 2 fresh garlic cloves, some sea salt and black pepper. You can add some shreaded low fat cheese too if you want.
Once bread is done toasting, lay out on a cookie sheet, spread the barbaque chicken mixture out on the bread, make into a sandwich. Bake in the oven to melt the cheese for like 10 minutes. Low fat and healthy. Involves no frying and your kids will love it. Enjoy
Ok, so your having french fries with of course tons of fat, transfats etc. and then you are dipping them in globs of ketchup. The ketchup has “high frutose corn syrup” which makes your body intake more fat while eating it, so if you are eating something really fatning like french fries, could it be possible your body is taking on more fat then eatting the high frutose corn syrup alone? Something to think about.
Why are the candy companies not forced to remove their transfats?

Well in my search for baby food photos, I can across this baby food warning not to buy these certain jars of Earths Best Baby food. If only people could see how easy it TRULEY is to make your own baby food. Its even fun. Use your blender, or food processor. Boil your own carrots, veggies, etc. and make it fresh. When your baby starts eating baby food, at 6 months (shouldn’t be sooner), the first few weeks you are making the same veggie to make sure there are no allergies anyways. SO, buy that bag of carrots and make them every day for the week, then next week buy sweet potatoes and make them for the week and blend away. Your baby doesn’t need all those perseratives anyways, we shouldn’t eat all processed foods, why should they. I feel bad when I get behind someone in the store buying a ton of baby food jars. I wish I could be as bold as my blog to say something to them (nicely of course) to encourage them to try. Another GREAT positive in making your own baby food, is then your baby will reconize how the veggie really tastes and they will eat them better when they are toddlers. My kids did great and are still doing great at eatting their veggies and they are 5 years and 8 years. And by the way, you will save money too. Its MUCH cheaper to buy a bag of carrots compared to a bunch of jars of carrots.
http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ here are some websites about making your own babyfood. http://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com/

If you have or can get a food processor, I dont think they cost too much, buy one on Ebay. ok, just buy some peanuts, add a dab of a healthy oil (dont use vegetable oil, thats not a healthy oil), a dab of sugar helps. It came out great. My kids loved it, and you can even try different nuts, they will just love watching you make this yourself.
I went to this website and found some interesting info about Aspartame and an ear infection link. http://www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-case-histories.html
Many parents are letting their children drink diet soda, and this scares me. Imagine how much Aspartame some children have consumed in their lifetimes. Its in gum, yougart, sodas, childrens vitamins, these are all things we are giving our children. The question to you as a parent, are you reading the labels of what your kids are eatting?
The website above even goes as far to say that Aspartame in large doses can cause death in children. http://tuberose.com/Aspartame.html, this is another website with more about the dangers.
When cooking your family dinner, consider using fresh veggies, like for your spaghetti sauce, juice some fresh tomatoes, carrots, and brocoli and adding to the sauce. Use fresh garlic and basil. It makes alot of difference in the taste. My family always say how much they like the sauce better then just out of the jar/can. Just boil in with the sauce as you are warming up anyways in the pan. Add the juice to other dishes as well/baking it in, add to meatloaf and even hamburger patties.
